Happy Valentines Day!!

I got a gift yesterday!! in the mail, so I was at an appointment, when my husband texted me: "you have a parcel from Texas!"  I almost forgot, but then I remembered that I won a name sign!!  I never win anything, and this is so cool!!  Im in love with it!!  My husband says it is perfect and  agree!!, the colors, and the size is perfect!, we just dont know where to put it!! 

So Awesome!!! Just in love!!!

Weekend Update!!

What a weekend! plus Monday!!!

So Friday night I was invited to go out with some ladies, new friends for me!!  A night out with out kids and husbands!!  So we met at our local Legion!!  OK I never knew you could drink at a legion and cheap drinks!! Plus there was Kareokee( I had absolutely no part in!!)  Oh and  old men would ask you to dance! hahaa ( I also had no part in!)  But thank you, to the ladies that did because then we got free shooters!!  On to the shooters.......... a dirty hooker, I obviously haven't been out in awhile as I had no idea what this was, well I did but I didn't think it came in a shot glass!!!  But I will admit they are yummy!!! 4 in total that night!!  plus 2 beer, and a rye and coke at the end!!  The end I mean 1am, yep I got home at 2am, after dancing my but off!!! No, not with any old men!!  In our group!!  At a night club, where I at 29!  Felt really OLD!!! Really really OLD!!!  I saw my husbands best friends kids there!!  Yes I had to hide and walk off the dance floor a couple of times!!  Only because I was so embarrassed!!!  But I was not the oldest one there!!!  There were some maybe 60 year men there!! Yuk, not sure what they were doing there, but gross...........  Another reason I say I'm old is the music!  I had only heard of 2 of the songs they played in a 2 hour span!!  Maybe I'm just a country girl, I don't know!  So 8 am came very quick Saturday morning!!!  I had a nap on Saturday, not because I was hung over but because I was tired!!!  Up till 2am, then up at 8am, cleaning all day!!  I deserved the nap!!! 

Sunday we relaxed, watched some amazing soccer!!!  The Canadian Women's Soccer team is going to London to the Olympics and placed 2nd!!!  We are so very proud of our niece!!!  Sophie!!!

Monday was a PRO-D Day, no school for my oldest!! So it was her first time coming to the gymnastics club with us!!  We as a daycare go every Monday!!!  Mayela was so excited and said it was so much fun!!

I had ordered our new bedding, and it came in last week, I like it, my husband say it looks like its from the 70's, I don't think so, but how would I know, I wasn't even born till the 80's!!!  And yes I feel old!!!


I bought grey sheets/pillow cases, and also a darker purple sheets/pillow case sets!!

Well that's all I got for a Tuesday!!!!!  I'm going to enjoy my Brown Sugar Latte, soo yummy..........

Is it Friday yet???

Holy moly what a week!!! Yep and it's only Thursday morning!!! 

Dal got a cold last weekend plus a flu bug, he was vomiting and had a fever, trying to give a child tylenol, then to have it come right back up is always a lot of fun!!  Hear the sarcasm??!!  Yesterday he started to feel better, well he is trying!! 

Avah has had a bit of the cold but nothing to bad!!  She has also pooped on the potty 7 days in a row!!!  Yep I said 7!!  well she did have 2 accidents after already succeeding on day 2 and 5!  But let's think positive!!!  As we drove by her school this morning she yelled " I want to go to school!"  more on that in a minute!!

Mayela, well I can't wait for her to be 7 and be done with being 6 and hopefully somehow, she will loose the attitude and cut me some slack!! Really, I am the mother, everything I do is for her, but yet I'm still the meanie!!!  Ok so here is what I went through just to get both kids into school/preschool!!!  Ready??

7:15am : go into and wake Mayela up!!! and reminder her it's wacky hair day at school!!

7:20am : again, "Mayela it's time to wake up!  so we can have time to do your hair!!"  Mayela says: "No, your not doing my hair I have my own plan and I will do it my self!"  Me: "ok, but you need to get up, get dressed and have breakfast first!"

7:25am: she still isn't up

7:35am: me: "OK, you are running out of time, get dressed and come eat breakfast!!"

note: All 3 of my kids were in bed at 7:15pm and asleep by 7:30pm!

7:40am: me: "Mayela, get up now, the other kids are going to start coming and you will have no time to do your hair!"

7:45am: me: MAYELA!! now!!!!

7:50am, 1 daycare child here, Mayela is dressed but has not eaten her breakfast!

7:55am: she is eating her breakfast and I show her how I was thinking of doing her hair as she looks in the window!  She yells"No, I'll do it my self that wasn't my plan!"

Okey doky, I think to my self this is going to be a long day!!!

8:00 am: Mayela in the bathroom, crying saying she had a different plan that she was thinking about all night!!  and how I don't let her do anything and how mean I am!!
Meanwhile Avah is up eating breakfast I ask if she wants to go to preschool and she says: "No" Ok fine, no need to fight with 2 children in the morning!!!

So between 8am and 8:30am, there was a lot of yelling, screaming, crying, sitting in the bathroom, not doing anything to her hair!! I said several times fine go to school, with your hair not brush and how you always wear your hair!! I got the daycare child on her bus for preschool, and Avah got her coat and boots on, and still in her pj's  and I couldn't find a minute to get her dressed or Dal!!

8:30am: me: " Mayela let's go get your stuff on, I'm done fighting and arguing with you, let's go!"
 Mayela: " crying, holding my leg, no please one more chance please............just one more chance!!"

note: 8:30am is when we leave the house and get into the car to drive to school!!

8:31am: me" fine get in the bathroom let me do your hair and stop crying"  Mayela: "ok"

So after doing her hair, and having Dal scream and cry, holding my leg, because he is still sick and just wants up it is 8:42, the first bell has rung and we are just getting in the car!!!  Good thing the school is 3 blocks from our house!!! On the way, Mayela says sorry!!!

8:44am: run into the school, just in time for the last bell!!!  I say bye to her and leave!!!  Get into the car and as we leave and drive by Avah's preschool, she yells" I want to go to school!!!  So I drive fast, home, run into the house with Avah, get her dressed, run a brush through some of her hair and out the door we go!!  Yes Dal is buckled up in his car seat! Off we go to the preschool which is on the same block as Mayela's school!!!

9:08am: driving home with Dal, thinking to my self" Is this day over?? I need a nap!!  The other 2 daycare kids show up and the day has only begun!!!  Im wishing it was over!!!  Really the only thing keeping me going is knowing that I have a babysitter and I am going out tomorrow night with some ladies (ladies night out and my husband says have fun!!), to make some new friends, have an adult conversation, ok maybe 2!!!  Have a drink, ok Im going to have 1 drink for each of my kids and  then 1 to relax, and we will see if I can still count!!!

Happy New Year 2012

Wow 2012 already??  I remember thinking to my self I wonder what it will be like when it is the year 2000, and if anything will change??  Some people said the world will end, others said nothing,   Well I have heard people say the same thing for 2012, all I know is while we are standing and breathing, we should be thankful we are here today!!  No one knows what tomorrow will bring! Live, Love, Laugh.......... it's a new year, a new day, and I'm going to make it count!!

Ok, enough on that, the good stuff!!!  Christmas came and went ever so quickly!! It was perfect, my husband, our kids and I, in our home together!!  After the busy Christmas morning of opening presents, we went for dinner at a friends!!  I got out of cooking Christmas dinner, ok that's a first!!  All I was asked to bring was a salad, well even I can mess that up!! Forgot 2 of the key ingredient's, good thing my friend had one of them!  It made for a good laugh!!

What the kids got for Christmas:

Santa brought a wooden Train Table and Train Set!!


Mayela: Books, clothes, games, remote control car, Tag reader books, craft stuff, movies, and webkinz pets!!

Avah: Books, clothes, games, remote control  quad, Tag reader books, movies,and a Gum Ball Machine with Gum balls!!

Dal: Books, clothes, trucks, cars, more trucks, some more cars, a dozer! and a truck racing ramp set!

The Favorites!!!

Dal's was the Dozer that is similar to this one, it rumbles, and drives with a push of a button and plays music!!  It is so cute to watch his facial expressions, when he plays with this!!

Mayela got a 4 pack of Webkinz though this is the only one I remember, and a blue hippo!!  She loves them!!

Avah, was so excited to see the gum, that it took some convincing to open the box that had the gumball machine in it!! It takes, pennies, nickles and dimes, good thing because someone has to buy the gum!! (sorry about the horrible picture!!)
 

We bough a couple bags of gum, because we don't have the store where you buy gum so we stocked up!!!

Hahaaaaaaaaa, let's see how long this lasts us!!?



I bought my husband a smoker, for smoking fish, now he needs to get some fish!!

I got a new pot set  also a Pandora bracelet, with 2 charms, and a wooden sign wit a quote on it, that I love and deserves it's own post!!

 Plus everyone got a stocking full,and  a Lot more, hat just wont come to my mind right now!!

On the 26th we went to visit Family and Friends and cam home on the 30th! It was a great Christmas break, then we rang in the New Year staying at home enjoying some champagne, my husband had a little more than me!! Hahaaa

Tree decorated, but the ornaments on the bottom move higher and higher every day!!
Baking done, though I will do some more today, just cause!!
House clean!! (Well the top half anyway!!)
I even have all the stocking stuffers bought and in individual bags!!  (I even filled one Friday night to make sure I didn't need to buy anymore!!)

To do:
Wrap stocking stuffers
Build santa's gift, that will be a christmas eve project after kids are in a deep sleep!!
Get groceries

I sure like that my to do list is half the size of my done list!!!!

This past weekend I went on a shopping trip to GP for the day with a new friend!!! and NO KIDS!!! It was amazing........we went out for lunch and were in and out of stores in a quarter of the time it would have normally take hauling 3 kids!! It was a good thing becasue the stores were packed!!!  I treated myself to a hoodie, that only cost $12.60 with taxes!!! The weather has been crazy, it rained the whole day a steady drizzle!! Global warming much???

Did I mention that I have 4 more days of work and then workholidays til January 3rd!!!

For the love of my children!

Oh my, oh my, oh my............my little man put his momma through a lot yesterday!!  First he decided to chew on a light bulb, while we were decorating the tree! (It was plugged in)  Yes he got electrocuted!!  I picked him up and his eyes rolled back, then went limp, yes I shock him, and he was as white as a ghost!!  After a few minutes he was all good, but I still took him to the doctor to make sure!!  The doctor said, he will be fine, he just scared you!!  He did check in his mouth for burns but no burns!!  Yah, so off we go home!!  Time to make supper, so I pulling the chicken out of the oven and he knows it is hot, and I am saying " NO, its Hot!  What does he do, touch the oven rack!!  Oh my is this night going to get any better??? Nope,  then he falls off our bed which is taller than most!!  Ok really at this point I am DONE!!!! It was time to put him to bed!! and I did!!  Then I decorated cakes for my girls classes, and ate an extra large piece!!

Today is a new day, but Dal wastes no time, to cause more mischief!!  The photo says it all!!

Yep in the dryer, with a phone!!  I can only imagine who he is phoning................... Is it bad that I want it to be bed time already??  It is only 10am!


Ok so here are the cakes I made for my girls classes!!  Avah's is the snowman and christmas tree, I signed u to make, but no mother could just make cakes for one daughters clas and not the ther, so Mayela's class gets the tree an mini-cupcakes!!

That's it for today I'm tired and I think i nee a nap, yep at 10am!!!  I lovey kid's, I love my kid's, I LOVE MY KIDS!!!

Yummy..........

Yumminess.........if that's a word, these are so yummy, they got mom and dad's approval, but the kids not so much! ok maybe one kid approved!

1 cup butter flavored shortening

1 cup sugar

2/3 cup packed brown sugar

2 eggs

1 tablespoon orange juice concentrate

1 tablespoon grated orange peel

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon cream of tartar

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon salt

1 cup coarsely chopped fresh cranberries

1 cup chopped walnuts

Directions

1. In a large mixing bowl, cream shortening and sugars. Beat in eggs, one at a time. Add orange juice concentrate, orange peel and vanilla. Combine the flour, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt; gradually add to creamed mixture and mix well. Stir in cranberries and walnuts. Cover and refrigerate 2 hours or until easy to handle.
2. Drop by tablespoonfuls onto greased baking sheets. Bake at 350 degrees F for 14-16 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove to wire racks to cool.

My variation, I used margarine, also used fresh orange juice = 1 orange, and the zest of one orange, didn't care if bit of orange fell into the bowl!  I also didn't use walnut but I added pumpkin seeds, and I used dried cranberries.  So great, and healthy for a cookie!! (could use less sugar as I found them a little sweet!)

On another note: IM DONE MY CHRISTMAS SHOPPING!!! Just waiting on Avah's pictures then I can send out cards and parcels!!!
